About Donna Young

I am a traditional tile painter, born in Mercer Island, Washington and living in Bend, Oregon, since 1996. I was schooled formally as a graphic illustrator and worked on such projects as Air Force One for the Boeing Company. After numerous Seattle exhibitions as a fine artist, my style and creativity eventually evolved to architectural applications. I enjoy the concept that my art will be appreciated functionally as well as aesthetically.
My tile work excels in matching fabrics, wallpaper and colors as well as historic period designs including Art Nouveau, Victorian and William Morris. I have an understanding of the types of designs needed to enhance specific architectural styles and furnishings. My designs are created to coordinate with your palette and materials.
All of my sinks and tiles are individually hand painted, glazed and kiln fired in my studio. All projects, large or small receive the same quality of craftsmanship and care. I believe that the art of painting, and the painting itself, should convey a feeling of serene satisfaction and inner harmony. My sinks and tiles create a rich and inviting environment as timeless as nature itself.
